You can't eat a watermelon with 1 bite

I turned the typical phrase into one more inclusive for those plant-based among us :)

Just as I released social media posts telling people how to pitch-in to the book I'm now helping with (see the video description), I got the above email from a newsletter I’m subscribed to. The universe keeps conspiring to tell me things.

I felt great overwhelm when I first realized the task I’d brought upon myself. So many pages. So much research.

Then reminded myself that I can't eat a watermelon with one bite. I reminded myself of slow productivity and doing the minimum necessary, not giving my 110% daily since that’s a recipe for burnout. And I reminded myself why I'm doing this.

My Labor Day was spent reading about evolutionary biology psychology applied to eating disorders (the book draft), learning about biological nonlinear dynamical systems (giving feedback on 2 textbook chapters also to be published), and contacting people as sources. It was a pleasant reflective day and I also look forward to my weekend Monterey mini-vacation with my precious one. I hope you all had a great Labor Day too - maybe you savored real watermelons!
