The 2-minute rule for getting things done

If something takes less than 2 minutes to do, just do it. This rule is from David Allen's Getting Things Done book.

I just checked something off my "get-to-do-list" (what I call my "to-do list"... I've explained in a previous blog post why I like using "get to do" as the phrase!). That thing took longer to record on the list, and later look at the list to finish the task, than it did to just do the task right away.

Productivity depends on having the right environment too, something I'll probably expand on later. I must, since I promised my viewers it in one of my videos!

As I'm in the process of arranging a new living space, I'm thinking about how to set it up to maximize efficiency and get things done. And how to cut down on the little 2-minute things that come up daily, from the friction of going through certain hoops.
